Summary: a brief statement of the content of the report
European Integration is one of the most important structural phenomena of recent years. The countries covered by the CSIL Report on the Furniture Industry in the European Union (Part II) are the ones that joined the European Union after the first 15 countries. These countries have proved to be very dynamic in the furniture sector and for most of them, the opening up to international competition led to an increase and diversification in the supply of furniture.
The Polish furniture industry is among the fastest growing industries in the country. Thanks to foreign investors, the leading local furniture factories have been modernised and converted to the highest European standards.
And Czech Republic also boasts strong export potential. The country is infact among the world's top 15 furniture exporters. Hungary, Slovenia and Slovakia are also benefiting from FDI and from EU integration. Another lively area is that of the Baltic countries.
