Among the European (17) countries, Switzerland accounts for share of 3.4% of total European furniture demand. Furniture consumption reached worth Euro 3.4 billion.
Furniture consumption is largely satisfied by foreign products: Switzerland is, in fact, the country with the highest propensity for purchasing upholstered furniture of foreign origin. Swiss furniture sales are concentrated in the specialist channel. The buying groups are not so important in this country. The leading independent chains on the Swiss market include Pfister Arco, IKEA, Interior and Micasa, both part of the Globus Group.
