New residential dwellings by region
Furniture production in Turkey jumped from around US$ 2.2 billion in 2000 to US$ 5.4 billion in 2008, it maintained high levels in 2009, despite registering a sharp reduction. The last ten years have witnessed rapid progress in the Turkish furniture industry, which is increasingly capable of penetrating export markets as well as exploiting the growing domestic demand. Furthermore, when analyzing the group of emerging economies, Turkey is one of the top five suppliers, after China, Poland, India and Brazil.
