Summary: Highlights of this Report
Although Danish furniture production only contributes 3% to total European production, what is worth noticing is that the country ranks fourth among the major European exporters. The exports/production ratio is higher than the European average and the major destinations are Germany, Sweden and Norway.
Denmark provides a number of market opportunities for operators. It is an interesting economic bridgehead for Northern Europe and the Baltic region, it is a test area for new products and technologies, and Danish high purchasing power is mainly directed towards the home (furniture, interior decoration, accessories and furniture for large spaces) and all products aimed at improving the quality of life in general.
The furniture industry comprises a significant production of kitchen furniture. Denmark is also home to some important producers of ready to assemble furniture: the country provides 14% of total European segment production, the industry is highly competitive particularly in the manufacturing of pine wood ready to assemble furniture.
