Summary: Highlights of this Report
The furniture production in Finland accounts for EUR 1.3 billion. The country ranks thirteen and fourteenth (among the EU17 countries) respectively for its furniture manufacturing and consumption. However, as far as raw materials are concerned, it is worth noticing that Finnish forest area is the largest in Europe.
Office furniture manufacturing claims the largest share of Finnish furniture production, accounting for more than 20% of total Finnish furniture output. The Finnish competitive scenario is highly concentrated, dominated by two local producers that have a combined market share of about 50% and are very focused on the domestic market.
Upholstered furniture manufacturing comes in second and increased in nominal terms in the last two years. Actually in this segment a large share of consumption is also satisfied by imports.
