The worldwide contract market for lighting fixtures is estimated to be worth USD 15 billion in 2021 after having reached a peak of around 17 billion USD in 2019.
The project business (indoor) for lighting manufacturing companies mainly addresses the following segments of the lighting market: retail and luxury shops, hospitality (hotels, restaurants and bars), office, private residences, auditoriums/theatres/cinemas, marine (yachts and cruise ships), large infrastructure (airports, schools/universities, health care facilities public spaces), and art and museum spaces.
Outdoor side – the segment ‘residential and architectural/city beautification – has a close connection with above, while it is totally different the ‘street lighting’ segment.
Approximately 50 lighting players hold almost 50% of this market. They play in this channel in close partnership with architectural practices and lighting designers.
