Contract-Lighting-Trend

The worldwide contract market for lighting fixtures is estimated to be worth USD 15 billion in 2021 after having reached a peak of around 17 billion USD in 2019.

The project business (indoor) for lighting manufacturing companies mainly addresses the following segments of the lighting market: retail and luxury shops, hospitality (hotels, restaurants and bars), office, private residences, auditoriums/theatres/cinemas, marine (yachts and cruise ships), large infrastructure (airports, schools/universities, health care facilities public spaces), and art and museum spaces.

Outdoor side – the segment ‘residential and architectural/city beautification – has a close connection with above, while it is totally different the ‘street lighting’ segment.

Approximately 50 lighting players hold almost 50% of this market. They play in this channel in close partnership with architectural practices and lighting designers. CSIL has now analysed the who’s who of about 250 of these companies out of an estimated 1700 total number. The overall turnover of lighting practices is among one and two billion USD. Average lighting project worth in between of 30,000 and 50,000 USD.
