Türkiye Mattress Industry: Key Insights

Türkiye’s mattress industry runs on a tight regional-cluster model (production concentrated around Kayseri), largely self-sufficient at home. What stands out currently is the speed of its export reorientation, as the US recedes and European buyers, particularly the UK and Germany, take its place.

  • Market trends

A largely closed domestic market — imports cover only a small share of consumption — combined with moderate, growing export activity. The US, once Türkiye’s dominant export destination, has fallen sharply in importance under trade pressure; the UK and Germany are now the leading markets abroad.

  • Competitive landscape

Ownership is concentrated among a set of established groups (Yataş Yatak, Doğtaş Kelebek, İstikbal Mobilya, İşbir Yatak, Bambi Mobilya), but production itself remains fragmented across many smaller firms, almost all under Turkish capital with limited foreign direct investment. Investment is overwhelmingly domestic — capacity and foam-production expansion within the Kayseri cluster — while inbound activity mostly takes the form of foreign brands partnering with Turkish manufacturers to enter the market.

  • Recent moves

Domestic capacity investment and foreign brand partnerships are the current themes.

    • İstikbal’s sale to Paşalı Group, ending its period under state control (May 2026)
    • BEDGEAR’s market entry via partnership with İşbir Yatak (April 2026)
    • Yataş Yatak’s İncesu Foam Factory reaching full operation to cut raw-material dependency (2025)
