Major furniture importing countries. Imports, 2016-2022. Current US$ billion.

The International trade of furniture, which is currently worth around USD 188 billion, has grown faster than furniture production over the past decade. In the three-year period 2020-2022, we have witnessed sharp variations mainly due to the combined effects of the pandemic and inflation, with no specific structural significance. The outlook for international furniture trade in 2023 and 2024 is positive, partly due to lower transport costs.
The United States confirms its position as the largest world importer of furniture, followed at a distance by Germany, the United Kingdom and France.
