The e-commerce mattress market, which was on a growth trajectory even before the pandemic, recorded hypergrowth in 2021. Its value currently amounts to around USD 16 billion.
In 2022, consumers returned to in-person shopping, after relying heavily on online purchasing, thus a normalisation of e-commerce incidences at 2021 levels is expected in most countries, with different performances worldwide. North America, with the USA being the first online mattress market worldwid,) is the largest consuming area for online sales of mattresses, followed by the Asia Pacific, with China accounting for the lion’s share of the area and South Korea boasting one of the highest online penetration. Europe ranks third, with the United Kingdom and Germany as the largest markets in the area.
