Norway is the twelfth country in Western Europe in terms of home furniture consumption and eleventh in terms of imports. It accounts for 3% and 4%, respectively, of the whole WE market and of WE imports. Norway is a very open market with an imports/consumption ratio of 73% (WE average: 51%). Denmark, Sweden, China, Poland and Lithuania together account for over 70% of total Norwegian home furniture imports. Within the specialist channel, chains are gaining ground over small scale independent retailers. The e-commerce channel is growing fast.
