MIFF 2017. Resounding exhibitor response - Press Release


The Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) goes into its 23rd edition next March 2017 with resounding support from returning and new exhibitors taking the opportunity to set up a stronger presence when the show expands in 2018.


MIFF 2017 organised by UBM Malaysia is scheduled from Mar 8-11 at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) and Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC).


In 2018, the show is set to grow 25% bigger to 100,000 sqm at the brand new Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and PWTC.


Exhibitors in 2017 will enjoy exclusive privileges to showcase at MITEC in 2018.

The 34th edition of the traditional end-of-the-year CSIL Forecast Seminar will take place in Milan on Friday, 25 November 2016.


Since 1983 the Forecast Seminar for the Furniture Markets in Italy and Worldwide has been a keynote meeting for sector players and operators, representatives of institutions and trade associations, journalists, economists and researchers and also a not-to-be-missed opportunity to analyse trends and prospects for the furniture sector in Italy and on the global market, with the participation of a panel of speakers discussing on breaking focus themes.

CSIL forecasts for the global furniture sector at Woodtech Forum in Damietta


Woodtech Forum will take place on 26-27 November 2016 in Damietta, Egypt, an area where the woodworking and furniture industry is traditionally very strong and now still increasing.

The event has gained the trust of large international companies participating in the event. AHEC, EPF, EPLF, Häfele, Fantoni, Scm Group, Alfa Wood are some of the organizations and companies that have confirmed their participation to Woodtech Forum, presenting new technologies and trends in furniture design and equipment.


CSIL has been invited to present a Seminar on: ‘Forecasts for the global furniture sector with a focus on product trends and fast growing markets’ during the Woodtech Forum on Saturday 26th of November with speaker Mr. Matteo Grigolini.

IFFS Reveals Exciting New Elements and EU Partnership - Press Release


Singapore, 5 October 2016 – IFFS Pte Ltd today announces a series of updates for the International Furniture Fair Singapore 2017 that will make its return from 9 - 12 March at the Singapore EXPO.

Along with co-located events - the 34th ASEAN Furniture Show (AFS) and the inaugural Nook Asia, the shows will continue to celebrate design, invoke inspiration, and facilitate business discussions, with the aim of promoting trade and growth for the industry.

Key factors driving the change in the furniture consumption worldwide


According to the article Megatrends for the furniture industry by Alessandra Tracogna, CSIL Industry Studies, issued in the nr 71 of “World Furniture” magazine, there are some rising megatrends affecting the way people live globally, particularly in the advanced economies.


All these factors are driving the change in furniture consumption too and manufacturers are targeting to meet emerging and changing demand through an evolving offer of products.


These keywords can be used by furniture manufacturers to better reach consumers and keep the competitive edge in a global market, where competition keeps growing day by day.

Status of the Office furniture market in the European continent


According to an article by Mauro Spinelli (CSIL) issued in the World Furniture magazine #70/September 2016, the office furniture market in Europe recorded a positive growth for the second year in a row (+4.7% in 2015).


The CSIL report “The European Market for Office Furniture” (June 2016 edition) confirms the trend with largest markets, like Germany, France and the United Kingdom, pushing the growth and performing over the European average.


New European member countries included in this year edition of the above mentioned CSIL study grew consistently over the European average and registered a +6.8% comparing to the previous year. Poland and the Czech Republic are the largest markets of this countries group and performed well in 2015.

CSIL @CIFF Shanghai - A close watch into the global furniture market

Contract furniture. A growing business for European companies.


The attention paid to the Contract sector in the furniture industry is not just fashionable.


According to CSIL, sales of contract furniture of European producers and contractors have seen a double-digit growth of over 15% between 2010 and 2015.


This business has been constantly increasing in the last 5 years, at a yearly average rate of about 3%, and 2015 was among the best years (around 4%).
