Cosentino’s new sport series
The new collection from world’s leading worktop brand Cosentino, “Silestone® Sport Series”, was presented by the F-1 World Champion Fernando Alonso at a global launch event last September 8 in Milan. The series consists of three new colors: Rosso Monza, White Platinum and Cemento Spa.
The event, attended by Silestone® customers from Italy and Europe, hosted a roundtable, where the F‐1 driver together with design and architecture professionals Santiago Miranda and Michele Capuani, Dean of the IED (European Design Institute) Group, discussed about innovation, technology and design. The debate focused on latest design and decoration trends, and the application of techno-innovations, such as those used in high technological fields like Formula 1, for consumer products.
Cosentino’s brand Silestone® is present in some of the world’s most unique constructions, such as Hotel Burj Al Arab in Dubai, Wembley Stadium in London, Carrousel at Louvre in Paris, Torre Agbar in Barcelona and Telefónica’s flagship store in Madrid. Today, one out of four kitchens in Spain contains Silestone®. In the USA it boasts a market share of 75% of all quartz surfaces and 7% of all kitchen worktops.
The Cosentino Group currently runs 6 factories 17 kitchen and bathroom surface production centres, 53 distribution points or Centers and a staff of more than 2,100 people worldwide (1,019 in Spain). The Group manages and controls distribution from its headquarters in Almeria, Spain, with Cosentino Centers in 15 countries: the US, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Sweden, the UK, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Ireland, Switzerland, Italy and Portugal.
In 2009, almost 70% of total turnover came from international markets.
