India’s production of lighting fixtures for 2011 amounts to approximately Euro 1,328 million (equal to around 86 billion INR). Approximately 16% of production is exported (Euro 215 million), to be compared with 17% two years before.

Consumption includes imports for around Euro 208 million. During the last two years India improved its manufacturing position for industrial and outdoor lighting, while more and more consumer luminaires are imported.
