Key Insights from the Report

The Finnish furniture market is emerging from a period of significant contraction. After sharp double digit declines in 2023 and 2024, the market is finally showing signs of levelling. Finland is heavily tied to its neighbours. Sweden remains the top supplier with a 25% share, followed by Estonia (15%) and a rapidly rising Poland (13%), which has grown at an average annual rate of 16% since 2019.

The Finnish retail scene is witnessing a major transformation, with “big-box” giants moving into logistics and premium brands heading for the city centers:

  • IKEA’s Fulfillment Power Play: The market leader is heavily investing in the “last mile.” In 2025, IKEA is opening a new Distribution Centre in Lommila (Espoo) and rolling out 24/7 pick-up lockers to support customer services.
  • The Urban Boutique Trend: Higher-end brands are abandoning the suburbs for Helsinki’s high streets. Vepsäläinen is planning a new design studio/service point in central Helsinki for 2026, and the sustainable brand Woodio opened its downtown showroom in 2025.

This report provides a detailed analysis of the furniture retail market in Finland, including market size, consumption trends, distribution channels, competitive landscape and future outlook.
