The lighting fixtures market in Middle East and North Africa (MENA region) is estimated by CSIL to be worth US$ 3.8 billion in 2022, to reach 4.8 billion in 2025 (forecast in current USD, at the 2022 exchange rate), a cumulative growth of 24% in value and 9% in real terms.

The MENA Region is a net importer of lighting fixtures (over US$ 2.5 billion, equal to 70% of the total consumption). In 2022 imports have increased of approximately 5% in the whole Region.

Most of the growth during 2022 comes from Qatar, Kuwait and Morocco. It is driven from Hospitality, Entertainment, street and area lighting.

Saudi Arabia is the main market in the area, followed by the United Arab Emirates. Italy is today the second source of imports for all the countries (except Jordan) after China.

Signify is market leader everywhere but to be noted the growth of Zumtobel, Al-Babtain and Ledvance. Some country big players are Nouran and Al Nasser in Saudi Arabia, Gulf Lights in Qatar, Al Meer in Kuwait. Emerging players are Fumagalli (Itay) and Pelsan (Turkey). 

As regards the distribution system Contract/Projects account for approximately 40%-50% of the lighting fixtures market in the region, lighting/electrical wholesalers sell around 30%-40% of products, 20% is sold among lighting specialists, lifestyle chains, e-commerce.
